Federal Work Study Program eligible students may work anywhere on campus and utilize their FWSP award. Some departments may be looking for only FWSP eligible students while others are able to hire any students. Either way, having a FWSP award makes you an attractive candidate from a financial standpoint. If your FWSP status hasn't been discussed during the application and interview process then please inform your supervisor as soon as you are offered a position. Students and their employing departments must then take the following steps to complete the hiring process:
The On-Campus FWSP Process
- Find a job.
- Register your FWSP job with the Student Employment Office. Ask your supervisor for their 3-digit TUB and 5-digit ORG.
- Complete the I-9 employment eligibility verification process. This only needs to happen once, at your first job on campus. Your supervisor will work with you on this.
- Have a conversation with your supervisor about time reporting and approval responsibilities.
- Learn about your responsibilities and how to be professional before you start a new job.
