The Harvard Student Employment Office is happy to announce the return of the Harvard Student Employee of the Year Recognition Program (SEOTY). This program provides our campus with a wonderful opportunity to recognize and reward the vital work that our student employees perform both on and off campus, in a variety of different roles.
How the Program Works
Supervisors for both on and off campus agencies can nominate student employees who they feel deserve recognition for their job performance. Nominations will be judged based on the following 8 NACE Core Competencies: critical thinking/problem solving, oral/written communications, teamwork/collaboration, digital technology, leadership, professionalism/work ethic, career management, and global/intercultural fluency.
All nominees and their supervisors will be invited to a SEOTY Ceremony, which takes place in April during National Student Employment Week. At the ceremony, one student will be chosen by a selection committee as Harvard's Student Employee of the Year, and one student will be chosen by a selection committee as Harvard's Graduate Student Employee of the Year.
In recognition of their invaluable contributions to our community, we are pleased to announce that the 2020 Harvard Undergraduate Student Employee of the Year is Mariana Kessler ‘20, and the 2020 Harvard Graduate Student Employee of the Year is Nicole Black-Pettit of SEAS!
Reasons to Nominate Your Student Workers!
- Being nominated is a great resume-builder for students.
- The state winners receive a $100 cash award.
- The regional winner, through the Northeast Association of Student Employment Administrators (NEASEA), receives a $250 cash award, and will be considered for the National Student Employment Association's (NSEA) national recognition program.
- The NATIONAL Student Employee of the Year receives a $1,000 cash award!
The nomination form will open again in the winter of 2020.
